Hello! There's a book statue in every room before the each boss, and there's one in town, outside the library, you have to interact with them to save the game. Are you playing the browser version? Save/Load should work, check if you have the cookies allowed in this site.
Amazing piece of work here! The graphics and music are great, I absolutely love your HUD (nice DOOM reference with the character portrait) and menu design. Everything about this oozes quality, well done!
I don't play that many GB studio games, just because they all fell kinda same-ish, but I knew I have to try this one as soon as I saw the screenshots. I absolutely love all the designs and atmosphere of the game. The level design and gameplay is really fun as well.
Only thing that was little bit of a letdown are the boss battles. All of them were little bit too easy and basic. But I understand that this was a Jam go with strict deadline.
I am really looking forward to your next project.
Btw. I once got this error when existing the START menu. Not sure what caused it.

Yeah I decided to make the boss battles like that, originally they had 2 phases, but I realized I didn't have enough time to polish them on time so I had to cut a lot of content, including that. It's something I definitely want to improve If I go back to work in this game again. Thanks for the screenshot, it's the first time I see that error, I'll do some research about it.
I had so much fun playing this. At first I just wanted to get in and destroy stuff as a monster, or shotgun-wielding nun, but I found myself getting attached to the story and setting. It's rich and has lots of pages to find, weapons to upgrade, and keys to grab! Thanks for such a fun experience Bard, I'll be back to play more soon.
